Press ReleaseGlobal Expansion Continues by Adding Two Major Online Merchants: Betfair and Expekt
NETELLER PLC, a leading online money transfer service provider, is pleased to announce its continuing expansion with the recent addition of both Betfair and Expekt.com to its merchant base. Both these prominent merchants now accept transactions from NETELLER's growing worldwide base of more than 1.5 million members.
Betfair
Betfair is the world’s leading betting exchange, a revolutionary concept which it has pioneered. Powered by cutting-edge technology, Betfair allows punters to set their own odds and back or oppose an outcome, even once an event has started. Betfair also has one of the fastest-growing poker rooms in Europe and attracts 15,000 regular poker players per month. Betfair’s business excellence has been recognised by prestigious organisations such as the Confederation of British Industry, which named it “Company of the Year” in its 2004 Growing Business Awards.
NETELLER’s service will be available to Betfair users in early June 2005. Betfair does not accept bets from the US and all NETELLER customers are screened for geographical location.
Jonathan Cumberlege, Betfair’s director of payments, stated: "Betfair is very pleased to offer NETELLER’s highly regarded and convenient payment service to our sports betting and poker customers in the UK and abroad. NETELLER’s FSA regulation and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes provide Betfair with the confidence that all NETELLER customers will comply with our own KYC policies".
Expekt.com
Expekt.com is a leading international bookmaking group with betting licenses in Malta, UK and Austria. The company was founded in 1999 with a goal to be the leading online bookmaker serving the global marketplace. Expekt’s services are available in 18 languages for customers from over 200 countries. Expekt.com customers can choose from both national and international sport events as well as poker and casino games.
Per-Ivan Selinder, Chief Executive of Expekt, commented: “Expekt’s adoption of NETELLER’s widely used money transfer service is aligned with our commitment to global leadership in online betting”.
Gord Herman, Group CEO of NETeller PLC, stated: “NETeller continues to increase its critical mass in the rapidly expanding i-gaming market by providing trusted, secure and innovative payment services to the largest and most recognised names in the industry.
