Press ReleaseNETELLER Significantly Expands European and Asian Offerings
NETELLER Plc (LSE: NLR), a leading online money transfer service provider, announces today that it has recently extended its European offering by launching German, French, Spanish and Italian versions of its service. Customers in these four countries can now access local language and payment options and will be supported by a native speaking contact centre facility, with 24/7 service.
This latest major enhancement to the NETELLER service is another significant milestone in the Company’s strategy to deepen and extend its offering into more countries and market sectors.
NETELLER’s English-only website has already built up a global user base of more than 2.6 million customers and 3,400 merchants across 160 countries. NETELLER expects to drive adoption of its service within these four major European countries by enabling customers to transfer money from their local banking systems, in Euros and in their own language. Since the release to customers on 25th April, early indications are already showing a significant growth in sign-up rates from new customers, particularly in Germany and France.
Merchants who conduct business in these countries will also benefit from being able to offer a seamless, single language and currency service as their customers transfer between their website and NETELLER’s service.
In addition to enhancing its European offering, NETELLER also today confirmed that it has placed a strategic footprint in the emerging Asian market by officially announcing the availability of its new 1-Pay™ (www.1-pay.com) payments platform for the region. The new service has undergone extensive testing during the last quarter and is now integrated with a number of key merchants in the area. The Company has already been running a Japanese site since mid 2005.
Ron Martin, President & CEO, commented "I am delighted that we are now able to offer the most trusted and secure online payment service to these important geographies. This is another milestone in NETELLER’s pursuit of deepening and extending its service within a greater number of countries and market sectors."
Finally, NETELLER also announces that it has completed a major technology overhaul, replacing its existing member application technology with a more scalable JAVA platform. NETELLER says that this will provide the necessary foundation to support its continued aggressive member and merchant acquisition plans.
NETELLER will announce a trading update for the quarter ended 31 March 2006, together with its AGM statement, on Thursday 11 May 2006. About NEOVIA Financial Plc
